Expectations:

Expectations

We are so excited to share Peterson Bay with you! While you are here, we want to help you have the best experience possible and to love and appreciate Alaska the way we do! Peterson Bay means so much to us, and it requires hard work to operate, maintain, and keep it in ship shape. All we ask from those who choose to experience it with us is to understand and follow these guidelines and expectations:

A financial contribution of $500 per group to help subsidize the annual expenses.

These expenses can include, but are not limited to:

Maintaining the property and facilities

Boat usage, maintenance, and storage

Fuel for ferrying passengers back and forth to Homer, fishing, sightseeing, and other activities

Upkeep and use of equipment such as paddleboards, kayaks, water bikes, fishing tackle, wet suits, life jackets, etc.

Length of stay for each group is limited to 14 days.

This allows us to maximize the number of groups that can stay each summer.

It is recommended to book Peterson Bay well in advance. The calendar fills up quickly and reservations are first come first serve.

When guests book their stay they reserve the entire property. If they are a smaller group and are willing to share their stay with another group(s), that is up to them and the original reservation has first right of refusal.

Assistance and seat equity around the property with small projects and tasks are encouraged and expected. These are generally not more than a few hours, but with group support and man power they can be invaluable to us and the property. Clean cabin and spaces you use while visiting (cleaning and checkout list will be in cabins)

Boats and Watercraft use:

The Spin Drift, Xanadu, and Blue Nose boats are there to support guests and operations. They are required to get across the bay, navigate from shore to the docks, and around the adjacent areas.

Family members must show boat experience and competence to drive any boat.

Everyone must respect the rules and guidelines explained by your hosts for utilizing boats during each stay.

Life jackets are required at all times while on the boats or any watercraft! No exceptions.

Any person who plans to fish must get a fishing license. You can purchase one-day, 3-day, 7-day, and 14-day licenses to accommodate your trips. No exceptions!

Property Rules:

Smoking, vaping, and drug use of any kind is prohibited in the cabins. Those who smoke outside or anywhere on the property must be mindful of the fire hazard. Dry wood, spruce needles, leaves, grass, etc., are everywhere. Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly, not left or discarded around the property.

Drugs or alcohol consumption are not permitted on the boats.

We encourage guests to respect the property and residents of Peterson Bay. This is a beautiful place to spend time, and we are thrilled that you are visiting.

We ask that you are always aware of Mother Nature, remembering that she is always in charge, especially in Alaska!

Have Fun!
