EAGLE BLUFF HIDEAWAYS:
Eagle Bluff Hideaways is in Peterson Bay, it is a remote location that is a 15-20 minute boat ride across Kachemak Bay from the Homer Spit in Alaska. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife, the property is rustic and natural, with walking trails, wild flowers, and a beautiful seashore, all part of the ambience. You may even see wildlife such as eagles, sea otters, seals, puffins, loons, and maybe an occasional bear, moose, or whale.

Wildlife:
We coexist with the wildlife in Alaska and even in Peterson Bay. Although fascinating, this is their home too; it's important to be respectful and cautious by:
Making your presence known when roaming around the property
Sing songs or play music, walk in groups, etc., so that you don’t surprise any animals while exploring.
Disposing of Garbage properly
Garbage needs to be stored inside the cabins until we can dispose of it properly, either in Homer or by burning it in the fire pit, to avoid attracting curious wildlife.
Be Smart
When animals are spotted, don’t bother or disturb them.
Slowly, but cautiously, get to a safe place or distance from the animal.
When possible, alert others on the property (call, text, or shout) of the animal/animals on the property so they can stay safe as well.
What to do while visiting Peterson Bay:
Gazing on extended sunsets
Waterbiking
Kayaking
Paddleboarding
Hiking
Fishing
Boat tour of Peterson Bay
Whale watching
Beachcombing
Wildlife viewing
Bird watching
Swimming and dock jumping (if the tide is high enough)-we do have a few wetsuits.
On really rainy days, board games, fixing puzzles, card games, and watching movies
Tides:
There are two high tides and two low tides per day. (AM/PM)
The tides can change drastically; take caution
When on the beach and walking further away from the property, know the tides so that you don’t get stranded
Avoid leaving items on the beach-they could get washed away
Plan ahead
Watch the tides, especially if you are planning to leave. If departure time is at low tide it you may just be stranded until the tide comes in.
Low Tide Beach Combing-
The low tide allows for so much exploring of the ocean floor. We have wildlife charts and descriptions to take along when exploring. The best time to go out is an hour or so before low tide, so you already have a head start by the time it reaches the lowest point.
Please respect the sea creatures. Return all sea creatures to the water or their habitat after observing.

Jumping off the dock into the frigid water is always a hit at Peterson Bay.
The Tide needs to be 19’ or higher to jump off the dock
